Adult and legal.

I turned eighteen two weeks ago.

Yup, that was on the 4th.

My family and I had my "birthday dinner” somewhere at Hollywood, at 12am up to 1 something in the morning.

I was supposed to be at the church at 3pm after school, but I was stuck with my Mom and Uncle. We had to buy stuffs for my debut which was the following Saturday.

I was supposed to meet someone after I say my prayers.

I sent him a text that I will be late and might be at the church around four or five in the afternoon. He didn’t text back.

Just like what I thought, I got home by 4:30pm. I bought some flowers and walked to church. I said my prayers, and offered the flowers. I went outside the church and seated on the bench thingies. I texted him saying that I’ll wait; still, he didn’t text back. I had the thought that he wouldn’t come to see me on my birthday.

I turned my head to my left and saw him coming.

In mind, I started to ask myself such questions:

"Are we gonna get back together, finally?"

"Are we gonna be like how we were before?"

"Well... what are we gonna talk about?!"

I stood up, and cracked up a smile. He hugged me and greeted me 'happy birthday.'He called me by my nickname, and not with my pet name. That alarmed me; nope, not gonna happen.

We talked about the same unusual things we didn't really talk about. School was first on the list.

The clock said quarter before six, I said I'll start heading home. He offered me a lift, but I refused. Home is a walking distance and I didn't want to be with him anymore anyway; not in the way we treated each other.

We said our goodbyes and I gave him the last flower left that I bought earlier.

As I walked home, I heard sirens blasting from the ambulance that was passing by.

I asked myself,

Can that ambulance be for my heart? Coz' It's breaking.

~All I know was that, I had a talk with God. I had a talk with Him, that if you came that day, on my birthday, at His house... that's a sign that we are meant for each other. I had a talk with God; that was what and what is I am holding on.
